Job Description

The opportunity

High Net Worth insurance is one of the strategic focus areas for Manulife Singapore.  This candidate reports to the Head of GHNW - Singapore Distribution and is a key member of the International Brokerage Distribution team. This individual should have extensive knowledge of the High Net Worth market with an excellent understanding of life insurance products and marketing concepts. The primary focus of the role will be to drive sales for Manulife Global HNW (GHNW) through distribution channel by identifying, implementing, and executing sales and marketing initiatives for GHNW. The position will need strong external and internal relationships to drive sales and results.

Manulife Global HNW (GHNW) is one of the five strategic focus areas for Asia Segment and a growth business. Manulife is a leader in the High Net Worth individual life insurance market.  This individual should have familiarity with life insurance products and an excellent understanding of the High Net Worth International Life Insurance market and marketing concepts. The primary focus is the ability to identify, develop and promote marketing/sales opportunities and educational material along with building strong relationships with GHNW Distributors as well as internal support teams to generate sales for GHNW. 


Responsibilities

  • Motivate globally based distributors to sell GHNW solutions via participation in persuasive virtual and in-person sales presentations, designing marketing initiatives and providing top tier responsiveness to Distributor inquiries.

  • Drive sales opportunities and explore and develop opportunities for distribution expansion within International Brokers (IB) and outside of IB.

  • Work closely with distributors to identify market and sales opportunities / business potential for distributor growth as well as address and resolve issues that will cover a wide array of topics and could involve Underwriting, Product, and other areas within the company.

  • Cross promote Manulife solutions through GHNW by identifying, implementing, and executing sales and marketing initiatives aimed to retain business within the Manulife enterprise.

  • Interact with distributors constantly to update team members about competition information and ideas on staying ahead of competition.

  • Support Head of GHNW - Singapore Distribution in leading the team, providing mentorship / support to other team members on executing critical distribution workstreams and achieving core objectives.

  • Support the development of innovative products with the GHNW Pricing/Product team by providing insights on evolving customer needs, industry trends, and a commercial lens to ensure Manulife stays at the forefront of relevance.

  • Co-lead GHNW Strategic distribution projects in collaboration with the global GHNW leadership team and/or other leaders. (e.g. Shariah, Takaful, Next Gen IUL, etc.)

  • Work closely with team members across countries and time zones to achieve the GHNW objectives.

  • Represent Manulife GHNW at joint events, presentations and offsites.

  • Be a key, reliable and trusted resource as well as Manulife brand ambassador to all contracted Distributors including their sales support staff, sales consultants, and senior management.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in Life Insurance or Financial Services would be advantageous.
  • In-depth understanding of the High Net Worth (HNW) Life Insurance market, including products and marketing concepts.
  • At least 10 to 15 years of experience in life insurance, specifically within the HNW sector.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales and marketing initiatives in the life insurance industry.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with distributors, internal teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conducting persuasive virtual and in-person sales presentations.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify market opportunities, address issues, and provide innovative solutions.
  • Ability to lead and mentor team members, supporting their development and helping them achieve core objectives.
  • Effective in working across countries and time zones, demonstrating team.
  • Willing to work significantly flexible hours due to Distributors located in various time zones worldwide
  • Willing to travel (foreign/domestic travel required up to 3X per year or more)
