Summary:
As an Operations Engineer, a typical day involves overseeing the smooth functioning of production systems and services, ensuring they meet operational requirements and service agreements. This role requires continuous monitoring, managing delivery processes, and promptly addressing any issues that arise to maintain system reliability and performance. The position demands coordination with various teams to uphold service standards and support operational excellence throughout the production environment.

Role Title: Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Tower Focus:
The Network SRE drives reliability and automation across enterprise network infrastructure - routing, switching, security, and connectivity. The role works jointly with customers to identify network automation opportunities, develops and maintains automation software, and streamlines network operations using Python and Ansible network automation frameworks.

Tower-Specific Technical Skills:
Routing & switching: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, and network topologies.
Network security & services: Firewalls, load balancers (e.g., F5), VPN, DNS/DHCP/IPAM, and QoS.
SDN & modern networking: Software-Defined Networking, SD-WAN, and cloud networking constructs.
Network automation frameworks: Ansible network modules, Netmiko, NAPALM, Paramiko, NETCONF / YANG, and REST APIs for network devices.
Source of truth & tooling: NetBox / Nautobot, CI-CD for network (NetDevOps), and configuration compliance.
Observability: SNMP, syslog, streaming telemetry, and network monitoring / alerting.
Ways of working: Full development lifecycle for automation software - review requirements, develop, test, implement, and maintain.

Automation Skills (Python & Ansible in Network SRE Context):
Develop, test, and maintain Python-based network automation tooling (Netmiko / NAPALM / REST APIs) for configuration, validation, and reporting.
Build Ansible playbooks and roles for zero-touch provisioning, config compliance, and bulk change execution across multi-vendor devices.
Integrate network automation with source-of-truth (NetBox / Nautobot) and CI-CD pipelines for NetDevOps workflows.

Experience:
Required: 8 – 10 years of hands-on experience in Network SRE operations, engineering, and automation as described above.

Certifications (Added Advantage):
Any of the following tower-specific certifications will be considered an added advantage:
Cisco: CCNP Enterprise / CCIE, or Cisco Certified DevNet Professional.
Juniper: JNCIP / JNCIA.
Automation: Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Network Automation.
Cloud networking: AWS Advanced Networking or Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700).

Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 7.5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering.
- This position is based at our Pune office.
