Under the direction of the Pebble Plant Engineering Supervisor, the Process Engineer provides technical support and drives continuous improvements in manufacturing process capability, capacity and productivity at the site to ensure safe and optimal process utilization. Implements capital and expense projects within scope, cost, time, and safety standards. 

 

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Identify, recommend, and implement improvements in plant performance to optimize product volume, yields and quality in accordance with business needs.
  • Gather and evaluate data, utilizing statistical techniques to improve process capability and/or identify root causes of problems, and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Work with operators and technicians to troubleshoot process issues and develop solutions.
  • Serve as a technical expert on matters of both chemical processing and Environmental, Health and Safety matters.
  • Manage both large and small projects to improve safety, quality, performance, or cost.
  • Develop plant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for process and equipment operation.
  • Provide training as required to manufacturing personnel in relevant manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure plant permitted emission control devices are operating in accordance to manufacture specifications.
  • Analyze process data to understand and improve manufacturing process control.
  • Interpret P&IDs and technical drawings.
  • Identify opportunities and undertake efforts to improve the safety of the manufacturing facility

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • BS in Chemical Engineering or chemistry from an accredited college or university.
  • Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry considered along with recent manufacturing experience.
  • 3+ years of work experience required, 8+ years preferred.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment and experience safely working in a chemical laboratory
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work in a team environment that supports chemical manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with a DCS and PLCs is a plus.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
