Local Business Lead Transformers Japan
Job Summary
Within the construct of the APMEA leading operating model (LOM 3.X), ensures the execution of the Business Unit and HUB business strategy for the complete portfolio of the Business Unit Transformers for the Japanese market. Through planning, leadership, workforce planning, and ITM deployment, develops the local organization and transitions from the current integration plan to stable and consolidated local operations. Aims to achieve the qualitative and quantitative goals for products profitably, through flawless execution delivering customer satisfaction at the highest levels
Key Responsibilities

Execution – Delivery, Inventory, Cost
- Joint accountability and responsibility, together with the respective Hub product lines and functions, for implementing the Hub Business Unit (Transformers) strategy and ensures business development in the Local Business unit, with full responsibility for delivering on time, in scope and on cost
- Ensures profitable business growth through development of performance targets in line with Hub Business Unit targets and ensures achievement through regular oversight and definition of improvement actions as needed
- Leads and manages the Operations organization and team members within the Local Unit and ensures local plans to achieve targets are implemented
- Responsible for local engineering, project execution and quality of the end-to-end value chain, from the sourcing the supply factories to the delivery to our customers
- Drives productivity, delivery performance and cost optimization
- Implements and ensures compliance with global and local standards, rules, tools, policies and processes related to operations/project execution
- Shares functional best practices and lessons learned across the organization
- Ensures that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed
Support – Sales, Product Management, etc.
- Provides new input for future growth and contributes to the development of the Hub Business Unit strategy, including but not limited to, market and pricing intelligence, and portfolio management in the local market
- Responsible to support Sales demand orders and growth through local BU MM team. Builds and maintains strong relationships with new and existing customers to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and improve net promoter scores (NPS)
- Guides, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates
Key Qualifications
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent Business Management degree
- 10-15 years of experience in managing local businesses for Operating Units or significant experience of all functions in M&S, SCM, Project Management, Technology Transfer, Production & Planning or Change management projects in preferred sectors Power Utilities / Industry / Data Centre / Railways / EPC / End Users
- Successful experience in generating revenue, profitability and execution
- Experience in leading diverse teams in Matrix environments at different levels of the organization
- Solid analytical skills
- Proven track record in strategy deployment and execution
- Fluent English level, Japanese highly recommended
