Job Description

Process Engineer III

Albany, NY

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, release, maintain and support Synopsys Python based Pcells (PyCells) 
  • Develop and create test-cases for DRC/LVS/PEX components, validate coverage for all supported tools based on ground design rules specification
  • Develop and automate Pcells development & verification process 
  • Process emulation, test-mask design, mask tapeout and silicon enablement of 3Di device architecture
  • Design rules, variability and tool control for yield and device performance
  • Derive geometric design rules that ensure process manufacturability of design.
  • Designs and executes process optimization experiments. Characterizes, compiles, and analyzes test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications. 
  • Drive development and document device design specs based on design rules. 
  • Use Monte Carlo simulation to verify design rules in a geometric 2D space 
  • Provides input for customer demo experimental design; acts as a technical customer interface. 
  • Use process assumption to drive the process verification with modeling and simulation using industry standard simulators  


Typical Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of related experience; or Master's Degree with 2 years of related experience; PhD with no experience or Associate's Degree with 8 years of related experience; or 12 years of experience in lieu of degree. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • PhD preferred
  • Must be legally authorized to work in US without sponsorship.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in design rule development and Process Design Kit
  • Deep understanding module Integration, Lithography, Etch, CMP, Thin Films
  • Use TCAD tool to determine failure modes and process windows
  • Experience in Calibre SVRF and Synopsys ICV DRC/Decomposition code


Physical Demands and Work Conditions
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.

Salary Ranges

$99,794.05 - $129,519.98

Individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, relevant education, certifications, and/or training.  In addition to base salary, we offer (full time regular employees ) a comprehensive benefits package and for certain roles eligibility in our bonus plan and long-term incentives as applicable.  The talent advisor can share more details about total compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.
