As a new entry Field Service Engineer, you will be instrumental in supporting our customers and partners from the initial installation and commissioning phases, through ongoing upgrades, repairs, and eventual decommissioning. Mission Statement

As a Field Service Technician, you will perform service, maintenance, and troubleshooting work of low to medium complexity in accordance with company standards, quality requirements, and safety protocols. You will focus on delivering exceptional customer service, working closely with clients and internal teams to identify and act on new service opportunities for Hitachi Energy.

Main Accountabilities

Service Delivery:

  • Perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, testing, upgrades, retrofits, and other service activities on electrical power equipment at customer sites.
  • Identify technical issues and provide effective solutions through both remote and on-site support.

Customer Approach:

  • Deliver services according to customer requirements and expectations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Identify potential service opportunities and communicate them to the appropriate internal teams.

Materials and Supply:

  • Coordinate and ensure availability of required tools, materials, spare parts, and equipment for service execution.
  • Verify that materials meet quality and technical requirements.

Documentation and Reports:

  • Prepare service reports, inspection records, technical documentation, and customer sign-off documents.
  • Submit reports accurately and in a timely manner

Troubleshooting:

  • Analyze equipment failures and determine root causes.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve equipment reliability and prevent recurrence.
  • Provide feedback for product, process, and quality improvements.

Operational Excellence:

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Follow Hitachi Energy procedures, standards, and best practices.

Health, Safety, and Integrity:

  • Comply with Hitachi Energy Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Promote a safe working culture, report hazards and incidents, and actively participate in safety improvement activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma Electrical Power, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical equipment, substations, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, or power systems.
  • 0–7 years of hands-on experience with Power transformer installation, repair ,commissioning and testing
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Solid understanding of safety protocols, operational methods, and quality assurance in field service environments
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client relationship-building abilities
  • Proactive and methodical thinker with a positive attitude and strong collaborative skills
