Job Description Summary

The People Leader of the Materials and Processes Engineering (MPE) Center of Excellence team in Engineering Innovation Center in Warsaw will lead team of exceptionally talented engineers responsible for defining, developing, testing, analyzing, and qualifying materials and processes for Gas Turbine components.

Working in close partnership with global and regional stakeholders, this leader will coordinate team workload and capability development to ensure effective support for new product introduction, vendor qualification, service performance, cost improvement initiatives, failure analysis, and problem resolution. In alignment with the global MPE organization, this role will establish clear priorities for the Warsaw MPE team and execute GE Vernova Gas Power strategy at the front-line leadership level.

This role includes also technical contribution, including support for GSC and laboratory activities. In addition, it carries responsibility for budget and schedule management, as well as leadership in talent development, culture, Lean, and EHS.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong people leadership for the Materials and Processes Engineering team, supporting organizational growth, team effectiveness, and delivery excellence.
  • Provide functional oversight of team engineering operations in coordination with global functional peers and key stakeholders.
  • Define and execute team priorities aligned with regional, global, and business needs, ensuring clear flow-down between individual contributor priorities and business imperatives.
  • Drive organizational health through strong leadership in employee engagement, inclusion, culture, and leadership coaching.
  • In collaboration with global and local leadership and technical organizations, build and strengthen the technical depth and capability of the EIC MPE CoE engineering team.
  • Identify development opportunities that support business priorities, including IP protection, NTI, new materials and processes, and vendor development.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams and People Leaders to deliver business outcomes aligned with Gas Power priorities.
  • Ensure the global cost competitiveness of the engineering team, with a focus on increasing productivity, effective resource allocation, process simplification, engineering tools, and Lean methodologies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in team competencies, processes, and operational efficiency, and support or initiate programs responsive to business and external needs.
  • Drive effective MAR planning to ensure the best sequence of activities, preserve evidence, and prevent or minimize rework.
  • Drive engineering strategy execution at the team level, ensuring organizational effectiveness and alignment with business needs.
  • Ensure that technically sound and innovative advancements in materials science are integrated across team processes and practices.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and participate in compensation and salary planning.
  • Promote mentoring and knowledge sharing across MPE, GTE, and GSC.
  • Coordinate cross-functional engineering support for RCA / MA activities.
  • Foster a strong EHS and laboratory safety culture, including support for lab safety initiatives such as participation in the Lab Network Group, 5S, and Safety Walks.
  • Ensure adherence to 5S and laboratory housekeeping standards to mitigate risk and maintain safe, efficient operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in materials engineering, ideally within industrial gas turbine applications.
  • Strong background in laboratory coordination, preferably including failure analysis activities.
  • Solid knowledge of materials engineering processes, investigation methods, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical issues, prioritize actions, and drive effective resolution.
  • Proven leadership experience, including people management, coaching, team alignment, and influencing across functions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders in a global matrix organization.
  • Experience in program planning and execution, including documentation, coordination, and delivery of successful outcomes.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Familiarity with engineering budgeting processes and operational practices.
