About This Position

The Regional Head of the Investment Specialist Group (ISG) provides strategic direction for the Investment Specialist function of their assigned investment division/region with a focus on delivering consistent, exceptional partnership to Investments, Distribution, and other internal stakeholders. This individual will lead a team of Portfolio and Investment Specialists and ensure that the group has the right talent, resources, and tools to execute the business goals of the division. They will also be the line manager for the Regional Head of ISG, Equity Portfolio Analysts, who leads the US-based equity portfolio analysts. Additionally, the Regional Head will have the investment acumen and partnerships necessary to leverage the time of the Investment division head both internally and externally where necessary. The Regional Head will be an active member of the ISG Lead Team partnering with other lead team members to focus on and contribute to strategic initiatives for ISG and the firm more broadly.

Responsibilities

Team Management

Responsible for attracting, developing, and retaining talent for their assigned asset class/region.

  • Working with relevant stakeholders, will make resourcing decisions to ensure portfolio managers and Distribution partners have the right support needed to execute on their strategies.

  • Provide real-time, continuous feedback to associates to enable development and facilitate a high-performing team.

  • Operate cohesively with ISG colleagues globally, identifying and seeking solutions for issues that cut across the larger group.

  • Facilitate and drive consistent application of best practices as well as quality standards related to the design, delivery, and dissemination of the firm’s investment content (verbal and written). 

  • Actively advocate and engage stakeholders in identifying and defining process improvement initiatives to maximize opportunities for success.  When necessary, help identify resources and remove roadblocks that threaten the ultimate execution of deliverables.

  • An active participant in ISG Lead Team meetings and initiatives thereby contributing to the management and development of the whole team. This will include leading and participating in projects both within ISG and across business units.

Leverage Time of Investment Division Head and Partner with Distribution and other stakeholders

As a member of the investment organization, work closely with the investment division head and other investment staff to maintain in-depth knowledge of investment themes and market conversations across the asset-class.

  • A comprehensive understanding of the full product range and how the products and solutions meet the needs of clients and prospects is essential.

  • Work with relevant Distribution heads to facilitate effective and mutually beneficial partnerships as well as understanding the needs of the different distribution channels.

  • Where appropriate, may lead ISG relevant projects that span the asset class/region and potentially across asset classes and/or on a global basis

  • May be asked to function as a proxy for the investment division head at select client meetings, moderate investment panels, and represent T. Rowe Price at other external and internal events.

  • Partner closely with the relevant Asset Class Product Leaders and others in Global Product to support investment division head and Distribution goals.

  • Partner closely with other stakeholders including, but not limited to, Global Marketing, IPRC, Legal & Compliance, Investment Support and GCIR

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND

  • 15+ years of total relevant work experience with demonstrated leadership ability

  • Respected Investment Professional, and ISG Leader

    • Passion for the investment business with a broad understanding of investment concepts and deep expertise in designated asset classes/strategies

    • First-hand knowledge of the portfolio specialist and investment specialist roles understanding what it takes to be successful in these roles

    • Senior-level presence with credibility and experience to gain trust and respect at all levels, both within ISG and across the firm

    • Proven ability to contribute to delivering excellent client outcomes and thereby help grow the business

    • An ability to collaborate effectively at all levels across the organization. A culture carrier

Preferred:

MBA or related degree and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation 

FINRA Requirements

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.
