Summary:

Responsible for assisting pharmacy leadership in day-to-day supervision and managing the operations of technician personnel and pharmacy systems. Supports the continual site operations for the pharmacy department in a supervisory capacity to achieve departmental goals and objectives and ensures regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

Supervises, trains, directs and serves as an internal resource for pharmacy technicians to support department operations and goals. Provides feedback to the team regarding daily assignments and responsibilities to ensure work is being followed up accordingly.Serves as a role-model and provides mentorship and coaching to technician personnel. Involvement in the recruitment and hiring process. Assists pharmacy leadership with time and attendance, scheduling, performance evaluations, and development of corrective actions for technician personnel. Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues when appropriate.Supervises the professional growth and development of pharmacy technicians by managing the quality of training and services performed by technician personnel. Acts as a department leader to support personnel engagement and subsequent development of department action plan. Liaison to the pharmacy technician training program.Assist pharmacy leadership in department project management including the identification, implementation, and on-going monitoring and maintenance.Monitors quality and assurance processes and ensures compliance and adherence to established programs, regulations, policies and procedures, and applicable institutional licensure.Responsible for the intra and interdisciplinary day-to-day management and auditing of operational pharmacy processes. Responsible for providing pharmacy leadership with end-of-month operational metric summary. Contribute to departmental fiscal planning, cost-reduction and containment, and revenue recovery.Performs all pharmacy technician roles and functions including coverage when necessary including, but not limited to: inventory procurement management, auditing, and pharmacy automation systems.

Complexity of Work: This role requires critical thinking skills, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to build and foster positive relationships. The incumbent must be able to lead others and take appropriate action when required. Required Work Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician; typically has one (1) to three (3) years of supervisory experience and/or leadership. A strong working knowledge of pharmacy operations is required. Other Information: In addition to the below registration and certification, must have a current certificate from, at least, one additional national assessment-based certificate program (PTCB) or equivalent.
