We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious student to join our Pharma Sales team for summer 2025! As the Pharma Sales Intern, you will contribute by researching and identifying new markets and opportunities for our existing and new pharma products. You will collaborate with our sales, marketing, technical and external parties including customers to determine the future growth of the pharma business at Ingredion. This work provides exposure to the business development and sales process working in a B2B industry.

Your role will be:

  • Research the sales opportunities and develop a go to market plan for specialty pharma grade products for the US Canada markets. Example: soft gels
  • Obtain information to gain insights on market trends and growth rates
  • Identify key target companies and volume potential
  • Interview customers and distributors to gain market information and trends.
  • Research competitor websites on capabilities and value propositions
  • Work closely with the pharma technical team to compare our product performance and benefits vs. competitor offerings
  • Work with marketing and technical to prepare data driven reports for sales to educate and share with customers
  • Determine the Ingredion’s capabilities to meet the industry requirements and the gaps to be addressed
  • Prepare a plan for Ingredion to pursue the new opportunities.
  • Work with Marketing to develop a market blast utilizing SFDC and Univar, our US distribution partner
  • Enter feedback and data into SFDC
  • Present research findings to management with recommendations at completion of internship period


Your profile needs these qualifications:

  • Progress towards a Bachelor's degree in a technical and/or marketing discipline
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and quickly adapt to change.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written technical communication skills, e.g. making presentations and writing technical data/reports
  • Working knowledge of basic computer software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Reliable transportation required to get to and from facility each work day

You’ll need these skills to be successful:

  • Proven ability to deliver under agreed upon deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers and others, both internally and externally
  • Solid teamwork skills and creative problem solving
  • Desire to see and create results

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must:

  • Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Ingredion does not intend to sponsor work visas with respect to this position or to provide this position as OPT or CPT.
  • Be a currently enrolled student in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program. If currently enrolled in an undergrad status, must have completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior.
