The Senior Accountant will be primarily responsible for executing account reconciliations related to assigned entities within Stryker’s Costa Rica Shared Service Center, as well as providing additional support to ensure timely and accurate Month-End Close activities and ad-hoc requests. This role will also own the full Fixed Assets cycle, support Payroll accounting, perform audit-related tasks, manage HFM uploads, and oversee the opening and closing of accounting modules. The Senior Accountant will be expected to proactively communicate with stakeholders, drive issue resolution, and provide assistance to the broader team on complex accounting matters or ad-hoc activities. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.

• Drive month end closing process and any request as deem necessary
• Financial Statement analysis
• Perform Account Reconciliation for assigned entities
• Comply with Corporate accounting policies, US, local GAAP and SOX controls
• Escalate any unusual activity or aged items to management which enables a proactive response to potential risks and related losses
• Prepare cash flow analysis and FEER reports
• Investigate and resolve unsupported balances with main customers
• Provide support to business on request related to journal/recon backups

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or related field
• Fluent spoken and written English and Spanish. Portuguese is a plus
• SAP, Oracle or QAD systems knowledge is a big plus
• 4-5 years (minimum) of relevant working experience in a finance function in matrixed international company (preferably American or Multinational company) with complex reporting practices and with exposure to various reporting systems
