Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Northridge, CA is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the team in supporting various programs (AARGM-ER, SiAW) within the Advanced Weapons Business Unit.
This position requires the selected candidate to work on-site in Northridge, CA on a 9/80 schedule. Telework is not available for this position. Some relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available.
This role requires work on cross functional teams to conceptualize, design, and develop hardware and assemblies for missiles. Validates and implements design changes utilizing CAD software and PLM. Responsibilities include 3d modeling, drafting, and completion of change documentation.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a MS.
- Experience using CAD tools and PLM systems.
- Knowledge of GD&T and ASME Drawing Standards.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience selecting and working with materials for high temperate applications.
- Experience working in the Defense Industry.
- Experience working with cross functional engineering teams.
- Experience with model-based definition.
- Current U.S. Secret clearance.
- Experience using Creo and Teamcenter.
- Experience doing tolerance stack up analysis.
- Experience resolving nonconformances.
Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
