Minimum Requirements:

  • Post secondary in business, accounting or economics

  • Three years in a analyst or scheduler role

  • Background in operations within the appropriate commodity industry

  • Experience with trade capture, dispatch, scheduling and risk management systems

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily scheduling and balancing using a computerized system 

  • Tracking of transport and utilization costs on pipelines at various points 

  • Working with team to maintain and update outage schedules, pipeline flows, monthly production forecasting, and stewardship feedback for the analytics group 

  • Begin to project long and short term crude balances 

  • Contribute logistical strategies for long and short positions 

  • Start to have input in the weekly refinery plan to ensure monthly targets are achieved 

  • Ensuring basic month end data capture into the system takes place 

  • Works within established procedures with moderate degree of supervision 

  • Identifies the problem and all relevant issues in straightforward situations, assesses each using standard procedures and makes sound decisions 

Location and other Key Details:

  • This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.

  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs.

  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work.
