Responsible for managing federal and state income tax related projects with a strong focus on partnership income tax. This role will manage income tax projects and compliance related to multiple tax partnerships as well as managing special projects for tax structuring, acquisitions, divestitures and other business transactions.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Responsible for managing income tax calculations and compliance for multiple joint venture tax partnerships.
Manage income tax projects such as tax restructuring, tax due diligence, transactional analysis and tax modeling with a focus on partnership income tax issues.
Provide income tax advice related to acquisitions, divestitures and other business transactions.
Research technical income tax positions and prepare documentation for various business transactions.
Create and implement impactful income tax strategies related to complex transactions.
Develop, implement and monitor short-term and long-term projects.
Assist with the review of complex income tax returns, quarterly and annual tax provision and modeling calculations.
Identify and implement process improvements to streamline, innovate and improve processes.
Delegate and manage staff to resolve complex income tax issues and projects.
Work with other departments to gather data to support income tax calculations.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Master’s degree in Tax/Accounting preferred.
Work Experience
Federal income tax manager experience preferred with at least 10 years of job related experience.
Extensive experience with income tax issues related to tax partnerships.
Experience managing income tax special projects from planning to completion preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of income tax with an emphasis on partnership taxation.
Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to take ownership of projects, ensuring their successful planning, execution and completion.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to advise and communicate effectively.
Ability to supervise, lead, and/or delegate work assignments.
Ability to communicate and/or exchange verbal and written information or instructions.
Excellent income tax research and writing skills.
Licenses and Certifications
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
