Corewell Health South is seeking a full-time Advanced Practitioner to join our expanding Critical Care team in Southwest Michigan.  Desire candidates who are patient-centered and team-oriented. Experienced practitioners with ICU or emergency medicine backgrounds, preferred.

The Critical Care Team provides 24/7 inpatient coverage at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph and Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital, Niles. Facilities includes a state-of-the-art 18-bed Critical Care Unit (St. Joseph) and 8-Bed Critical Care Unit (Niles). Block-style schedule with providers rotating seven (7) consecutive days on followed by seven (7) days off.  Shifts are from 7:00am to 7:00pm, and 8:00pm – 8:00am. Epic electronic health record is used for documentation.

Opportunity to rotate between shifts and sites. Practitioners will function autonomously and independent with on-site support provided during daily rounds with an intensivist physician. Back up provided via phone or telemedicine.

Team includes 10 physicians and anticipated 4 advanced practitioners.

Procedures include performing central line, arterial line, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and intubation.  A variety of sub-specialists available for referrals and collaboration opportunities on patient care.

Qualifications

Required Master's Degree Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program

  • LIC-Physician Assistant - STATE_MI State of Michigan required
  • CRT-Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 90 Days required
  • CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required
