Our services are vital to automated trade processing around the globe, managing peak volumes and working with our customers and regulators to ensure the efficient settlement of trades and effective operation of global capital markets

What’s in it for you:
We are seeking an experienced Sr Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for data migration, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.

The candidate may also have to guide and mentor junior team members. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Data Engineer Tech Lead would emphasize the importance of handling data migration processes, especially when transitioning between different systems or platforms. 

This role is based out in Gurgaon and expected to work with different teams and colleagues across the globe.

Responsibilities: 

  • Architecture and Design: Work with Architects & vendor to design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, and high-performance data pipelines and systems that meet business requirements and align with best practices.

  • Data Modelling: Collaborate with analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs, design efficient data models, and optimize data structures for analytics and reporting.

  • Migration: Lead and execute data migration initiatives, ensuring seamless transition and consolidation of data from legacy systems to modern data platforms. Develop strategies for efficient and accurate data migration while minimizing downtime and ensuring data integrity throughout the process. Develop Recon process between old and new system.

  • Technical Expertise: Experience in implementing distributed systems that perform complex transformations, processing, and analysis over large scale datasets. Stay updated with the latest technologies, tools, and trends in data engineering, and drive the adoption of best practices within the team.

  • Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain data quality standards, perform data validation, and implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify issues. Develop processes to automate detection of quality regressions in raw data

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including software engineers, data scientists, and product managers to support data-related initiatives and ensure alignment with business objectives.

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 12+ years of experience in data engineering with a proven track record of designing and
    implementing complex data solutions.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala. Experience with SQL, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.

  • Strong expertise in big data technologies like Kafka/OLAP, or similar frameworks.

  • Experience with SQL and No-SQL databases and different format supported by these databases.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and understanding of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and drive
    projects to completion.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Optimizing slow-running database queries and data pipelines

  • Preferred:  Certifications in relevant technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP, etc.).

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks or data science concepts.
