Description:
Provides effective leadership, management, direction, and administration for all assigned Investigators. Ensures all investigations of criminal and regulated activity comply with NYP policies, federal, state, and municipal laws. Oversees and advises in the matters of evidence collection, condition observance, record review, interview protocol, correspondence preparation, and reports utilized by various NYP department, as well as external administrative or legal authorities. Testifies in court or at administrative proceedings concerning findings of an investigation as required. Serves as a liaison to City, State, and Federal law enforcement.
Essential Job Duties
- Manages investigators, reviews all assignments related to their positions, and scheduling in alignment with hospital or department policies and procedures and responding to situations involving investigations.
- Coordinates and supervises all activities related to employee work direction, actions, procedures, facilitation, and conduct.
- Develops strategies, training, and analytics for investigations in collaboration with campus security directors and senior leadership.
- Oversees investigative activities to ensure the reliability of the information, appropriate follow-through, and adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Establishes and fosters partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies.
- Develops and maintains investigative policies and procedures.
- Assigns cases to trained investigators and ensures that investigations are conducted in an effective and efficient manner and in accordance with internal procedures and best practices.
- Monitors and tracks all ongoing productivity, quality, and caseload management.
- Reviews all investigation reports, presents findings to applicable stakeholders, and recommends follow-up actions. Conducts post investigatory reviews and implements new procedures and/or training if necessary.
- Evaluate threats and develops mitigation strategies. Assists with VIPs and coordinates activities with Patient Service and other departments to ensure make certain the organization’s environment is safe for employees and visitors.
- Performs all duties inherent to managerial role. Participates in hiring, training, evaluation, and termination of assigned staff according to hospital policies and procedures.
Criteria Preferred:
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP) by the American Society for Industrial Security Organization (ASIS)
- Professional Law Enforcement background as a senior management level
- NYS Mandated Security Officer Training
Criteria Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Driver’s License
- 5+ years’ experience as a manager/supervisor
- 5+ years’ experience in security or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in Executive Production, Healthcare Investigations and Special Event Security
- Knowledge of Criminal Investigation and Penal & Civil Law and Management Skills
- Knowledge of Fire Safety
- Knowledge of Management and Training Skills
