We are seeking an experienced Python / PySpark Developer to design and build a scalable, production-ready time series aggregation and interpolation library for use within Databricks. The role involves refactoring existing notebook logic into a standardized, modular Python package capable of processing large datasets efficiently on Databricks, while remaining flexible and easy to extend for multiple energy asset classes (e.g., Wind, Solar, Thermal, Pipelines). The ideal candidate will have deep experience with pandas, PySpark, and Databricks runtime optimization, with strong software engineering discipline around testing, documentation, and packaging. Required Skills & Experience: Technical Skills • Strong proficiency in Python (5+ years preferred) • Hands-on experience with PySpark and pandas • Deep understanding of time series data processing, aggregation, and interpolation • Experience building modular, reusable Python packages • Proficiency with Databricks, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, and distributed data processing • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git, pytest, and CI/CD pipelines • Strong understanding of object-oriented design and clean code principles • Ability to write high-quality documentation and inline help Preferred / Domain Experience • Exposure to industrial or energy sector data (Wind, Solar, Thermal, Pipelines) • Knowledge of PI or SCADA data systems and time series aggregation workflows • Familiarity with Azure Data Lake and Delta Tables Soft Skills • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities • Excellent communication and documentation skills • Self-driven, proactive, and able to deliver in an agile environment • Willingness to mentor internal engineers and participate in design discussions
