As DevOps Engineer you will join our team in Krakow, working with experienced DevOps colleagues from Poland and Switzerland. With excellent software engineering skills and can-do culture, you will be a part of our global group providing comprehensive solutions for Hitachi Energy Mission Critical Communication systems. How you’ll make an impact  

- Build, package and deploy software product applications on internal test systems. 

- Help implement process and tools improvements related to configuration management. 

- Automate repetitive tasks by scripting and development of software tools. 

- Maintain and develop laboratory network and infrastructure. 

- Perform entry-level debugging of the source code to facilitate resolution of integration problems. 

- You will be working with: 

• Containers 

• Virtualization 

• Continuous Integration 

• Python Test Automation 

• Configuration Management and Infrastructure as code 

• Software Build Toolchains and Automation 

• Cloud Infrastructure 

- Share your experience and skills with other team members. 

- Our tech stack and tools include: Ansible, ESX, Docker, Podman, Python, Linux, Bash, Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps,  RPM, Java, C++, C#, React, TypeScript 

Your Background 

- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from university in computer science, information science or a related field. 

- 2+ years of experience with DevOps / SW configuration management or SW Release Engineering. 

- Open minded, willing to learn and develop software engineering skills.  

- Proficiency in server administration and automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - Ansible is a plus. 

- Proficiency in administration of Linux systems (scripts in Bash, RPM, Systemd, RHEL, security hardening is a plus). 

- Hands on knowledge in following areas: 

• Git version control system, 

• Jenkins, Azure DevOps, 

• Knowledge of supporting SW development tools (Linting, Static Code Analysis, CI, testing, DevSecOps), 

• Kubernetes is a plus, 

• Bazel or MSBuild is a plus. 

- General knowledge about build system technology and software engineering.  

- Knowledge of routing/switching – network devices configuration is an advantage. 

- Excellent communication in English to exchange ideas.  

- Experience in working in a globally distributed team is a plus.
