The role is within the Line 1 Risk team in IB&M Global Institutional Banking Coverage (GIBC and supporting Capital Structuring (CapS). GIBC leads banking relationship management, providing transaction banking and capital solutions to its clients, offering solutions across the financing spectrum to support clients with strategic objectives.

The Risk & Control, Governance, Planning & Reporting team ensures that decisions related to non-financial risk and controls are well-informed, timely, and appropriately socialized. This is achieved through monitoring data quality, providing risk insights, reporting, and interactions with Line 2.
 

Role responsibilities include:

  • Root cause analysis: Manage root cause analysis of issues and incidents, identifying and implementing control improvements.
  • Operational risk & control: Report on operational risk and control profiles, issues, incidents, and other risk related matters.
  • Risk profiling: Ensure risks are profiled, captured, and updated when risk trigger events occur.
  • Collaboration with Line 2: Work effectively with Line 2 colleagues to determine the optimal course of action to remediate any significant data integrity issues within the BU/SU.
  • Operational risk advice: Provide timely commercial and pragmatic operational risk advice to the Global Client Solutions and Capital Structuring business.
  • Risk training programs: Assist in the development of operational risk training programs to increase risk awareness and culture across GIBC.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify, lead, and manage continuous improvement of the business control environment by using data to generate insights.
  • Governance forums administration: Administer governance forums, including preparation, minuting, and action management.
  • Support Strategic planning: Prepare information to support the strategic planning process and conduct analysis, tracking, and reporting on the Risk Appetite Statement (RAS).
  • Data quality & reporting: Responsible for data quality and monthly management reporting.

  • Exposure to risk management and compliance concepts within banking or financial services.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong influencing and consulting skill and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in governance, reporting and analytics.
