About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Analytics Consultant in Payment Fraud Analytics Team under Fraud Detection Services as part of Fraud & Claims Management (FCM)


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives including those that are cross-functional with broad impact and act as key participant in driving the company credit culture, desire, and business performance for Payment Risk
  • Review and analyze complex strategies, programs and policies with a direct and significant impact on first party fraud and payment risk
  • Receive direction from leaders
  • Exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with internal and external customers
  • Collaborate with business and risk oversight for developing effective first party fraud and payment risk strategies
  • Interact with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies on payment risk related topics

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in fraud risk and mitigation including strategies to reduce or mitigate loss and fraud exposures
  • 4+ years of experience with SAS, SQL, Power BI, Python or other data management, reporting and query tools
  • 4+ years of experience using data and analytics to inform and develop risk mitigation strategies
  • 3+ years' experience designing and optimizing complex SQL queries involving table joins and correlated sub-queries on large scale data tables
  • 6+ years of experience creating pivot tables and performing data analysis in Excel
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives
  • Experience with strategy development and implementation
  • Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas
