Position Overview

The Senior Vice President of Price Optimization Product reports to the President, Price Optimization, and serves as the strategic leader responsible for defining, developing, and delivering Zelis's next generation of price optimization solutions. This executive role owns the full product lifecycle, from market opportunity identification through product launch and ongoing optimization, ensuring Zelis maintains its Best in KLAS market leadership position. 

This role is critical to Zelis's growth trajectory. The SVP will drive innovation across our ZIPP platform, expand our competitive moat in payment integrity and out-of-network pricing, and identify strategic growth opportunities through build, buy, and partner decisions. The ideal candidate combines deep healthcare technology expertise with proven product leadership and a track record of scaling product organizations in high-growth environments. 

What you'll do:

Product Strategy & Vision 

  • Define and articulate the 2-3 year product vision for Price Optimization, aligning with Zelis's corporate strategy and market opportunity assessment. Own the product roadmap that balances near-term revenue delivery with long-term competitive positioning, expanding the Price product market opportunity and ensuring that products are effectively delivered. 

  • Improve the value proposition of Price products, with strong focus on customer return on investment. 

  • Lead market analysis and competitive intelligence efforts to identify emerging opportunities in payment integrity, OON pricing, and adjacent markets. Translate market insights into actionable product strategies. 

  • Drive platform consolidation strategy for ZIPP, maximizing cross-module value creation and strengthening Zelis's integrated platform differentiation versus point-solution competitors. 

  • Create and own capital development process aligning all product business case requests to the overall Price product roadmap. 

Product Management & Development 

  • Build and lead a high-performing product management organization, with roles including product strategists, product managers and analysts, responsible for new product solutions. Establish product management best practices, frameworks, and tools that scale with organizational growth. 

  • Oversee the Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) process, ensuring disciplined execution from concept through launch. Implement stage-gate governance that balances speed with quality. 

  • Partner closely with the CTO and engineering leadership to translate product requirements into technical specifications, manage development priorities, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. 

  • Champion AI/ML integration across the product portfolio, driving automation improvements that advance Zelis's 99% auto-adjudication rate while identifying new AI-enabled product opportunities. 

M&A & Corporate Development 

  • Lead build/buy/partner analysis for growth opportunities, developing investment cases and operational integration assessments. Work with corporate development to identify and evaluate acquisition targets that accelerate the product roadmap. 

  • Own post-acquisition product integration, ensuring acquired capabilities are successfully absorbed into the ZIPP platform while retaining key talent and maintaining client satisfaction. 

  • Evaluate and structure strategic partnerships with EHR vendors, claims platforms, and complementary technology providers to extend product reach and accelerate market penetration. 

Go-to-Market & Product Marketing 

  • Develop comprehensive go-to-market strategies for new products, working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and client success to ensure successful launches. Define pricing strategies, market positioning, and competitive differentiation. 

  • Standardize the approach with new product ACV management and supports all pipeline management efforts. 

  • Lead product marketing strategy, including messaging frameworks, sales enablement materials, and thought leadership content. Ensure the sales organization has the tools and training to effectively communicate product value. 

  • Serve as an executive voice in key client engagements, industry events, and analyst briefings. Represent Zelis's product vision to external stakeholders and contribute to thought leadership that reinforces market position. 

Leadership  

  • Leads executives, partners with P+C to develop talent strategies on hiring, promotions, pay, performance assessment, talent development, identifies potential.  

  • Role models success in execution of talent systems such as performance management and development, champions promotes diversity, inclusion and wellness.  

  • Serves as a formal/informal mentor to senior level managers and VPs. 

  • Manages a team of VPs and Senior Directors.  

  • Influences effectively without authority across the business unit leadership team. 

  • Partners exceptionally well with technology and operations teams to ensure product development execution is flawless. 

What you'll bring:

  • 20+ years of progressive experience in product management, product strategy, or related roles within healthcare technology, with at least 5 years in executive leadership positions 

  • Demonstrated track record of successfully launching products that achieved significant market adoption and revenue growth in the healthcare payer or revenue cycle management space 

  • Deep understanding of healthcare claims processing, payment integrity, and/or revenue cycle operations. Direct experience with claims editing, payment accuracy, or OON pricing strongly preferred. 

  • Experience building and scaling product organizations from early stage to maturity 

  • Proven ability to develop and execute go-to-market strategies that differentiate products in competitive markets 

  • Experience with M&A integration, including due diligence, integration planning, and post-acquisition product strategy 

  • AI first thinker with proven ability to strategically use AI to accelerate the business 

  • Strong executive presence with ability to influence at C-suite level, both internally and with clients 

Preferred Experience & Competencies  

  • Experience in pre-IPO or recently public healthcare technology companies 

  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including the No Surprises Act, state balance billing regulations, and healthcare compliance requirements 

  • Background in AI/ML product development or leading digital transformation initiatives.
