The department delivers a server platform solution for the ASTRO 25, the most widely used P25 mission-critical voice and data communication network in the world.


Job Description

PM at our department manages large software projects or portions of very complex projects.  Leads and coordinates the work activities of departmental or cross-functional teams. Oversees development of the complete project plan.  Runs or participates in weekly and monthly status meetings and reviews.  Issues status reports that include project status, milestones achieved, and upcoming tasks. Must be able to utilize PM tools (schedule, change order, risk assessment, action item log, etc) to analyze complex issues and develop resolutions for any issues related to assigned project(s).  Motivates the project team to ensure optimal performance.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations: 

  • Organize programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization.

  • Develop and manage project schedules to support the strategic direction of the organization.

  • Identify key requirements needed from cross-functional teams and external vendors.

  • Manage change requests and communication around the requests.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, and timing.

  • Manage program and multiple project teams for optimal return-on-investment, ensuring all program goals are met.

  • Conduct project team meetings.

  • Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle.

  • Present program status as required to different organization levels.

  • Work with key stakeholders to identify, analyze and assess program risks. Establish and track risk mitigation plans. Drive for closures. 

  • Work with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities.

  • Work with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions.

  • Implement and manage changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.

  • Develop an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.


Basic Requirements

  • The candidate should have a bachelor college degree
  • The candidate should have 2+ years of Program Management experience
  • Experience in using both Agile Project Management and traditional Waterfall and methodologies.
