We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join our UK Risk and Compliance team. Reporting to the UK Head of Risk and Compliance, you will be required to inform and support the delivery of the annual Aegon Asset Management UK Compliance Programme.

Maintaining an excellent standard of documentation with respect to all your compliance activities to provide a clear audit trail will be a crucial part of the role. We are looking for someone who can drive improvements in the compliance programme to keep abreast of market standard.

As our Compliance Officer you will be responsible for a range of activities including:

  • Assess and offer solutions on core compliance matters

  • Attend internal business meetings as a compliance representative

  • Support Compliance policy review schedule and effectiveness assessment

  • Compliance Policy Oversight, e.g. Code of Ethics, Conflicts of Interest, Market Abuse

  • Conduct Compliance Training for the 1st line

  • Maintain ongoing SMCR oversight.

  • Oversee Regulatory Reporting.

  • Support and provide a compliance risk view onboarding new clients, product initiatives.

You will work closely with the Aegon Asset Management Compliance units globally to drive best practice in 2nd line oversight of the business.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:  

  • Sound knowledge of relevant UK regulation (knowledge of US regulation is advantageous).

  • Knowledge of the asset management business.

  • Relevant compliance experience.

  • Experience compiling information for regulatory examinations and audits as directed.

  • Ability to form close working relationships across the business.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels across the organisation.
