Job Description:

Working with the Chief Partnership Officer, Brokerage, this role is responsible for a supporting the holistic High Net Worth strategy and development across the proposition. By doing this, bring in HNW sales to help Sun Life Hong Kong hit the key success measures of Income, VNB and Client.

Plus also being knowledgeable and supportive with business to leverage, collaborate and expand this business working as a team with Sun Life Bermuda and Sun Life Singapore.

The Associate Director, High Net Worth Relationship and Wealth Structuring, has the following key roles and purposes:

  • Bring in HNW sales across HNW Brokers, Agency (and Bancassurance where applicable)

  • Bring in and manage key HNW relationships

  • Expand our reach and breadth of HNW relationships across HNW Brokers, Agency (and Bancassurance where applicable)

  • Support the development and expertise in Wealth Structuring at Sun Life Hong Kong and with the various channels

  • Drive and support the Alternative Learning and Development in HNW Sales, training and Wealth Structuring

  • Work and partner with other businesses

Also the role will help with:

  • Support and drive HNW Alternative Sales and Training

  • Private Bank approvals including all paperwork and processes

  • Trust, PIC, Corporate and Insurable Interest Structuring

  • New Partnership opportunities with brokers, banks, and wealth structuring firms

  • Collating HNW market and competitor info

  • Launch HNW initiatives and partnerships

  • Double Taxation Agreements management

You would be able to think on your feet, and work with senior members of internal and external teams (Often Legal and Compliance) to reach positive solutions and outcomes, while always protecting Sun Life.

Key is to help SLHK HNW to meet and exceed Sales Target. And drive in an extra AFYP in 2023, and also find business and partnership opportunities.

Accountabilities

  • Relationship Management – Build and develop strong and strategic relationships with HNW and Ultra- HNW Partners (eg HNW Brokers, Private Banks, Trusts, Lawyers, EAM’s, IAM, Private Equity) to enhance SLHK ability at HNW Distribution and help deliver the HNW Sales Target.

  • HUBS Partnership and Development – expand the collaboration, teamwork, and sharing so HUBS win more business, relationships and leverage opportunities

  • HNW strategy and key initiatives – Provide strong drive and ownership to HNW initiatives internally and externally, work closely in between front and back office to ensure effective implementation.eg Trust and Structuring initiatives, Difficult and Complex Broker cases, solving issues on payments and commission etc

  • HNW Risk Management, Compliance, Legal and Regulatory Support – make sure Sun Life and the HNW team is protected at all times. Plus working in partnership with HNW Case Management/Ops and HNW Underwriting to give excellent service to internal and external clients

Requirements

  • 10+ years of HNW and Ultra HNW Sales and Wealth Structuring experience

  • University (BA) or (BS)

  • HNW Expert

  • HNW Ops/Case Management Experience

  • Ability to win HNW Bank Deals and Relationships

  • Ability to train and expand HNW sales in Agency

  • Strong Risk/Compliance knowledge

  • Clear evidence of appropriate skill and competencies and appropriate insurance qualification
