TITLE:  Wet Starch Operator

LOCATION:  North Kansas City

REPORTS TO:  Department Manager

OPEN SHIFTS: Swing Shift

STARTING WAGE: $26.98 per hour + Shift Differentials. Wage Increases at, 6 months ($27.50), 12 months ($28.61) and 18 months ($31.72).

A Wet Mill Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment used in the wet milling process, ensuring optimal production and product quality. This role involves monitoring and controlling machinery, adjusting process parameters, conducting routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team. Prior experience in manufacturing or milling operations is advantageous.

As a Wet Starch Operator, your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Operate and maintain equipment, transforming corn into its valuable components.
  • Ensure our products meet the highest standards of purity and consistency.
  • Identify and resolve challenges to optimize efficiency and product quality.
  • Contribute to process improvements and new product development.
  • Safely operate and maintain production equipment within specifications.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Identify and recommend enhancements to processes and procedures.
  • Monitor production operations through computer systems and controls.
  • Conduct product sampling and testing to ensure compliance.
  • Load, unload, and transport raw materials and finished products.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks (standing and walking for extended periods, climbing stairs and ladders, working in confined spaces, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and product movement.
  • Safely handle and work with chemicals according to guidelines.
  • Prioritize safety in every action, safeguarding yourself and your team.
  • Learn and perform various job duties as needed.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations.
  • Coordinating with other departments to maximize productivity.
  • Maintain a clean, food grade workspace.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Must be able to pass testing on Math, Reading, and Mechanical Aptitude.
  • Must be able to pass a background check for education, work history, and criminal record.
  • Must be able to complete a physical and drug screen.
  • We work a 7-day rotation and every 3 weeks employees will have a three-day weekend (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday).
