The person in this role will be part of the development team that supports initiatives for all Carrier entities, Commercial Excellence, Commercial Operations and Digital Commerce business units, inclusive of customer service, sales, marketing, B2B commerce, EDI, logistics and distribution. This role reports to the Solution Architect Pod Lead.

Primary Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Integration Developer (Boomi) to design, build, and operate enterprise-scale integrations and APIs across cloud and on-premise systems.

This is a key role in delivering secure, scalable, API-first integration services supporting global business domains such as Digital Commerce, Customer Support, Logistics, and Marketing.

This role needs a hands-on senior engineer with strong ownership of integration design, API governance, platform stability, and mentoring responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Integration & API Development (Must-Have)

  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain end-to-end integrations using Boomi AtomSphere (Application Integration, API Management, Cloud Integration).

  • Design and manage APIs using an API Management platform (Boomi API Management or Layer 7 or equivalent).

  • Build and maintain real-time, batch, and event-driven integrations between ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA, Oracle) and enterprise applications (CRM, MES, PLM, Finance, Data platforms).

  • Build API-first, service-oriented, reusable and discoverable services aligned to enterprise standards.

  • Implement integration patterns including synchronous/asynchronous messaging, event-driven integrations, error handling, retries, and idempotency.

  • Develop custom logic using JavaScript and/or Java within Boomi processes.

Platform Ownership & Operations

  • Own Boomi platform operations including monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

  • Manage integrations across Dev/Test/Prod environments with strong governance.

  • Implement enterprise-grade logging, exception handling, and recovery frameworks.

  • Support production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and drive permanent fixes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with application teams, DBAs, analytics, automation, and upstream/downstream system owners.

  • Translate business requirements into integration designs and technical specifications.

  • Review integration designs and provide technical guidance across teams.

Learning Agility & Platform Adaptability

  • Demonstrate ability to quickly learn and adopt new iPaaS platforms beyond Boomi (e.g., MuleSoft, SAP CPI, etc.) as enterprise integration strategy evolves.

  • Comfortable working in multi-iPaaS environments and transferring integration patterns, API standards, and best practices across platforms.

 

 

Required Qualifications & Experience

Must-Have Skills

  • 5+ years of enterprise integration development experience.

  • 3+ years of hands-on Boomi AtomSphere experience (mandatory).

  • Strong experience with API Management (design, governance, security, lifecycle management).

  • Hands-on experience building and consuming REST/SOAP APIs.

  • Strong understanding of integration patterns and API-led architecture.

  • Solid SQL and relational database skills.

  • Experience with XML, JSON, flat files, transformations, and mappings.

  • Knowledge of API security (OAuth, certificates, authentication, authorization, IP whitelisting).

  • Experience with AWS services and cloud-native APIs.

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Experience with SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration) is preferred.

  • Experience with other iPaaS platforms (MuleSoft, TIBCO, etc.).

  • Exposure to cloud data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, etc., including data ingestion, API-based loads, and integration with enterprise systems.

  • Understanding of EDI concepts and X12 standards, Trading Partner Management/Configurations

  • Experience using Node.js, TypeScript, or Python for integration extensions or custom components.

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.

Enterprise & Delivery

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments within large, matrix organizations.

  • Exposure to customer-facing systems such as eCommerce platforms, Salesforce, CPQ, or API-first portals.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
