Reporting to the Head of Italy Distribution, the role is responsible for developing and executing Invesco’s institutional distribution strategy in Italy, driving asset and revenue growth through the delivery of high quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Growth
Design and implement Italy’s institutional distribution strategy (pension funds, insurers, foundations, endowments, corporates) to achieve AUM (Assets Under Management) and revenue targets.
Identify emerging client needs, market trends, and regulatory developments; adjust go‑to‑market and product positioning accordingly.
Translate strategy into clear execution plans, priorities, and account coverage models.
Client Engagement & Business Development
Serve as the senior point of contact for key Italian institutional clients; lead relationship management and C suite engagement.
Drive new business via existing relationships and targeted prospecting; lead pitches, negotiations, and closure.
Increase share of wallet through cross sell and up sell within existing mandates.
Pipeline, RFPs & Sales Execution
Build and maintain a disciplined pipeline of qualified prospects and opportunities.
Oversee and contribute to RFP/RFI assessments and submissions in partnership with the RFP team.
Lead or oversee final presentations, ensuring tailored value propositions and solution fit.
Mandate Onboarding, Retention & Revenue Protection
Partner with Client Service to lead take‑on of new mandates and seamless onboarding.
Proactively retain at‑risk assets, address service issues early, and safeguard run‑rate revenues.
Oversee contract terms within mandate guidelines to optimise commercial outcomes.
Solutions, Product & Market Positioning
Work closely with Investments, Product, and Solutions to deliver comprehensive, customised solutions across active, passive, fixed income, equity, multi‑asset, ETFs, and private markets.
Maintain credible, up‑to‑date product knowledge and competitive positioning.
Provide the voice of the client to inform product roadmaps and market entry decisions.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with global institutional platforms, ETF specialists, due diligence, operations, and distribution partners to ensure an integrated client experience.
Partner with Compliance, Risk, and Legal to ensure regulatory adherence; collaborate with Marketing on campaigns and content.
Thought Leadership & External Representation
Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and panels; contribute to publications and client education.
Enhance Invesco’s brand visibility and credibility in the Italian institutional market.
Governance, Conduct & Controls
Ensure all activities align with Invesco Conduct principles, internal policies, and Italian/EU regulations.
Embed robust governance, documentation, and risk controls across the sales cycle.
Measurement & Reporting
Own and report on AUM flows, revenue, pipeline health, win/loss, retention, and client satisfaction.
Use data and market intelligence to course‑correct plans and improve conversion and retention rates.
Experience
Leadership & Revenue Delivery
Proven leadership experience with deep expertise in institutional asset management in Italy.
Strong track record in sales leadership and in delivering sustained revenue growth within the institutional market.
Client Relationship Management
Extensive experience managing and developing relationships with large, complex institutional clients, including pension funds, insurance companies, and foundations.
Demonstrated ability to operate at senior stakeholder and decision‑maker level within client organisations.
Strategic & Consultative Selling
Demonstrated ability to design and execute client strategies using a consultative, solutions‑focused approach.
Strong capability in leveraging market intelligence and client insights to develop differentiated and compelling value propositions.
Knowledge
Investment & Product Knowledge
Solid understanding of asset management products across a broad range of strategies, including passive, active, fixed income, equity, multi‑asset, ETFs, and private markets.
Strong familiarity with the Italian and EU regulatory frameworks impacting institutional investors.
Communication & Thought Leadership
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both Italian and English.
Established industry credibility, with visibility demonstrated through public speaking engagements, panel participation, or published thought leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA, CFA, CAIA, or equivalent nice to have.

Strong willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute effectively.
A proactive self‑starter with a high degree of initiative and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Excellent ability to communicate complex strategies in clear, simple, and accessible terms.
The salary range for this position in Italy is Euro 150,000 - Euro 180,000 Base/year.
The total compensation offered for this position includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience and location
