As Facility Space Designer, you’ll support Headquarters Air Force (HAF) facilities across the National Capital Region and will focus on developing detailed designs, drawings, and visualizations for office spaces and infrastructure projects using AutoCAD and Excel. The ideal candidate will work closely with government facility managers, staff and contractors to ensure compliance with design standards and project specifications, resolving space planning challenges and optimizing office layouts.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop detailed AutoCAD models and drawings of office space layouts, furnishings, and infrastructure.
  • Analyze space requirements, interpret feedback, and modify designs to meet project needs.
  • Ensure all designs comply with facility standards, regulations, and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to optimize space planning and resolve design conflicts.
  • Utilize Excel for data analysis, space utilization tracking, and reporting.
  • Review and prepare facility design documentation to maintain accuracy and adherence to Air Force guidelines.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • An interim or active Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain
  • A bachelor's degree.
  • 4-7 years of AutoCAD experience.
  • Experience developing detailed models, drawings, and visualizations of facility spaces CAD software tools.
  • Experience identifying and resolving design conflicts, inconsistencies, and issues to improve the design quality and project efficiency.
  • Experience Compiling, analyzing, and documenting information and data from models to support and optimize project plans, to meet budget needs.
  • Experience working independently and in a collaborative environment
  • Experience handling complex facility space design projects
  • You have at least a proficient knowledge of working in Excel
