Based in a collaborative environment, you’ll be at the heart of developing and refining the core software that powers global energy markets.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Reverse engineer and enhance mathematical models for power market simulations
• Design and implement new features across a diverse tech stack
• Write clean, efficient, and scalable code to solve real-world challenges
• Develop and execute unit tests to ensure software quality
• Collaborate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing
• Support technical research and customer-focused problem solving
• Participate in Agile development cycles and continuous improvement
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines

Your Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field
• 3–5 years of industry experience coding in C# (preferred) or C, C++, Python, MATLAB
• Strong analytical skills and ability to reverse engineer complex logic
• Familiarity with mathematical modeling, optimization, and solvers like Gurobi or CPLEX
• Experience working in Agile development environments is a plus
• Exposure to power systems or energy market software is a bonus
• Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
