The Billing and Collections Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining an efficient billing and collections process that supports the company’s rapid growth. This is a unique opportunity for a self-starter who enjoys problem-solving, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can manage end-to-end billing and collections while collaborating cross-functionally to drive improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, evolve, and own the end-to-end billing and collections processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing for all customers, including new bookings, renewals, usage-based billing, and ad-hoc charges.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for billing and collections, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Manage the collection of overdue accounts, implementing effective strategies to reduce delinquency and bad debt.
  • Work closely with the finance and sales teams to resolve customer disputes and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606 for revenue recognition).
  • Prepare monthly aging reports, DSO analysis, and other relevant financial reports to the leadership team.
  • Develop and document policies and procedures for billing and collections functions.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in billing and collections, preferably in a SaaS or technology-driven company.
  • Proven experience in building or transforming billing and collections functions in a fast-growth environment.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS billing models, including subscription, usage-based, and hybrid models.
  • Proficient with billing software and CRM tools, with a demonstrated ability to implement and optimize new systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and resolve customer issues efficiently.
  • Detail-oriented and data-driven, with the ability to analyze complex billing scenarios and drive continuous process improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
  • Experience with ASC 606 and revenue recognition is a plus.

Additional Job details

The base salary range for this position is $140k - $165k annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work at Sigma Computing. This role is eligible for a variable pay (based on goal achievement), stock options, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
