Your Opportunity

Routine data processing, reporting, and farm liaison. Manager will coordinate and supervise activities of employees engaged in data processing, reconciliation, and reporting.  This will include verifying duties to obtain, record, and report on production statistics and inventory by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.  Additionally, manager will play role in continually improving on-farm data capture, automated quality control of data, and providing greater insight from the data for production staff and management.

Core Responsibilities

  • Effective preparation, maintenance and reporting of production statistics and inventories, including monthly reconciliations.

  • Plans work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow for data processing clerks.           

  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.

  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates and sow farm data collection and reporting.

  • Provides training to production personnel on data collection, data processing policies, procedures, and reporting in one-on-one settings, classroom settings, and at the farm.

  • Manages the mobile sow farm data collection processes, training, and devices.

  • Ensures routine reports are processed and circulated on a timely basis as specified by management.           

  • Report development and special projects.

  • Helps ensure relationships are established between department staff and production field staff and managers that will allow the data captured to be fully exploited in production decision-making.   

  • Flexibility to be able to travel to other locations for meetings and/or training.

  • Flexible work schedule with willingness to work evenings and weekends if needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Ag Business, Animal Science, Accounting or related field and 5+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership is required.

  • Proven people management skills.

  • Advanced knowledge Microsoft Office Suites.

  • Proven problem solving, communication, and customer service skills.

  • Solid mathematical and analytical skills and ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

  • Strong ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 

  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, accounting policies, and procedure manuals. 

  • Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence. 

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.

  • Familiarity with the workings of data processing, accounting practices, and auditing.

  • Must be willing to visit farm sites.

  • Swine Production experience preferred.

  • Bilingual in English-Spanish is a plus.

  • Training experience preferred.
