At the Top Hammer department within Rock Tools, we’re on an exciting journey – we’re currently developing the next generation of top hammer rock tools and setting our future ambitions on how to work with digitalization. As we continue moving forward, we’re now looking for a Product Engineer to join us.

Your mission 
In this position, you’re a key person in the collaboration between our sites in Sandviken and Tampere, as you’re following the development of on-going RTD projects at Tampere and reporting back to Sandviken. You work closely with key stakeholders to drive development in our strategic area of Rock Tools digitalization. This includes technical responsibility for RockPulse from a Rock Tools perspective driving its development forward and collaborating with the R&D in Tampere, including both hardware and software development. In addition, you support the product development of our rock tools in Sandviken by contributing with the equipment aspect and you work in close cooperation with the Digital Technology team and Manager in Tampere. By sharing your expertise and developing new ideas, you contribute to the improvement of methods, tools and processes that add value to the business. 

 

This position is permanent and based in Tampere, Finland and some travel is part of your job. You report to the Manager for Product Development of Top Hammer Tools, located in Sweden.  

 

Your profile 
Were looking for someone with a master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering or other related field of study. You have previous experience as an application engineer and have worked in the field of rock drilling, software development or measurement technology. Experience in project management and knowledge of Matlab is considered as an asset. As we operate in a global business, excellent communication skills in both English and Finnish are required. 

 

With an open personality and strong empathy, you communicate effectively by addressing matters in the right way and conveying new ideas clearly. You’re self-driven, have a positive attitude and with a structured approach, you get things done to achieve goals. You have excellent interpersonal skills, enabling you to manage stakeholders and collaborate with others.
