Whole Foods Market, Retail Systems Test Engineering Team is responsible for ensuring that all components of the Point of Sale are Performant, Resilient, and Production Ready from a Non-Functional Testing (NFT) perspective. This team of Software Development Performance Engineers in Test works to anticipate, prevent, and reproduce complex engineering and business problems. We are looking for a Principal Software Development Performance Engineer (SDET) with exceptional technical experience in load testing Windows embedded native and retail technologies such as POS, Checkout and Payments, leadership and mentoring skills who loves to develop automation strategies and test the boundaries to keep our customers from experiencing hardware and software bugs. This role requires you to lead and mentor your peers and work cross-functionally with business partners to increase the reliability and performance of our software solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Define, Design and Build the Non-Functional Test Framework and Strategy for an enterprise class, multi concept 3 Tier Point of Sale System
* Architect and Build automated performance tests. Design, Prototype, Deploy and Execute those tests and automate the collection, analysis and reporting of results.
* Manage and grow team of WFM QA Engineers
* Collaboratively work with technology partners and integrated systems inside and outside of WFM
* Plan, Manage and Drive all NFT activities across the POS space
* Define standards and metrics for quality of execution
* Evaluates how new features may impact core performance and functionality.
* Collaborates with software engineers and technical teams to diagnose automated test site failures.
* Analyzes metrics and analytics and makes recommendations to support business decision-making and operations management.
* Analyzes complex and ambiguous problems.
Must Haves:
* 6+ years of professional software development experience. 4+ in the Windows native application space. 2+ years in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
* 6+ years of experience in broad range of load test and APM tools such as LoadRunner and Dynatrace
* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in a related field
* Built and Led a team of SDETs through multiple test planning and execution cycles
* Proven ability to develop and build out a performance strategy
* Experience with analyzing, modeling and simulating workload patterns
* Solid experience with Rest API automation and performance testing
* Advanced knowledge of software development toolsets and methodologies.
* Advanced knowledge of standard software testing tools.
* Working knowledge of enterprise-oriented software design and development methodologies
Preference given to those with the following:
* Experience load testing on Windows 10 embedded native application. Assessing resilience and application performance
* POS and Payments experience
