Job Summary

Data is critical to the day-to-day operations and decision-making at Comcast, and the Product Manager 2, Technical Data Product Owner (Data Platform Products) for the Data and AI team will play a critical leadership role in delivering Comcast’s strategic goals. This Product Manager will join a team of Technical Product Owners to define and evolve Comcast’s portfolio of data platform products. In this role, the leader will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Architecture, and Business stakeholders to develop data platform capabilities and to partner with a diverse array of internal data customers to deliver best-in-class data platform solutions. In this role, the Product Manager will help set the vision and oversee the definition and execution of data platform strategies that meet key business use cases, operating in a technology-rich and data-rich environment to solve complex, day-to-day data problems at Comcast. Job Description

  • Representing the Voice of the Customer throughout the product lifecycle to guide product development and strategy

  • Conducting market research and competitor analysis to inform strategic product positioning and direction

  • Collaborating with product development teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality products within timelines

  • Participating in strategic planning for product enhancements, including content, pricing, packaging, and feature sets

  • Assisting in the financial management of products, analyzing budget variances to identify performance opportunities and risks

  • Communicating market trends, opportunities, and risks, developing and advocating for product feature sets and benefits

  • Performing feasibility assessments and capability gap analyses to align product offerings with market capabilities and demands

  • Leading cross-functional teams in the development and execution of product strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals

  • Recommending process, product, or service improvements by anticipating business challenges and regulatory issues

  • Contributing to the organization's strategy development, leveraging in-depth expertise to influence product direction and decisions

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Core Responsibilities

Product Definition & Roadmaps: Shape the strategic direction for data platform products across multiple technical platforms, domains, and functional areas by evaluating business cases, finding the +1 opportunity, and socializing concepts. Work with platform engineers and architects to convert these opportunities into platform features and detailed data platform product requirements and roadmaps (use cases, MVP, epics, user stories, success metrics), while keeping the broader business impact on the data ecosystem in view.

Customer-Centric: Champion a deep understanding of customer and business stakeholder perspectives when defining MVPs to identify underlying needs, recognize trends, and anticipate future demand across supported domains. Ensure translation of these insights into data platform product features that meet user expectations and influence broader roadmap and prioritization decisions.

Data Platform: Focus on the strategy and lifecycle of key data platform products across supported environments and domains. Define what data platform capabilities are needed, how they are designed and consumed by data producers and consumers, and how they evolve to meet changing business, customer, and AI/analytics needs; as a Product Manager, guide data engineering and platform teams on priorities and delivery for new platform capabilities, enhancements, and retirement so the overall data platform product portfolio remains usable, reliable, and high‑value.

Technology: Provide strategic direction across multiple technical platforms and data environments, ensuring technology decisions support long‑term scalability, performance, and reliability of the data platform. Partner with engineering and other leaders to evaluate options, resolve key technical trade‑offs, and sponsor architectural approaches that effectively address market, customer, and business needs.

Communication: Deliver clear, compelling storytelling for the data platform product portfolio that drives consensus and energizes platform customers, leadership, architecture and engineering teams. Communicate platform strategy, status, risks, and outcomes through documentation, internal enablement materials, and presentations.

Implementation: Translate platform strategy into executable technical work by reviewing high‑level technical designs, capacity plans, and major delivery milestones. Stay closely informed about platform details and team challenges, ensuring backlog grooming and delivery plans result in capabilities that consistently meet business and technical acceptance criteria.

Collaboration & Support: Act as the senior go‑to leader for assigned data platform products and domains, enabling and unblocking teams as they support internal users with complex questions and issues. Foster a culture of open feedback, ensuring structured input from users and partners is fed back into platform roadmaps and backlogs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 

  • 10+ years of experience in data platforms or related technical roles

  • 4+ years of experience as a Product Manager, Technical Product Owner, or Engineering Lead

  • Proven track record developing the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle of data products or data platforms in a large, matrixed organization.

  • Demonstrated ownership of multiple products or one or more complex technical platforms or functional areas end-to-end.

  • Ability to execute fundamental product management responsibilities independently, including defining requirements, prioritizing work, and guiding delivery outcomes.

  • Deep technical understanding of the functional area and how it fits within the broader technical platform, architecture, and business strategy.

  • Experience defining and driving technical product strategy while ensuring sustained quality, reliability, and scalability of platform capabilities.

  • Proven ability to build and own technical product roadmaps, balancing near-term delivery needs with long-term platform evolution.

  • Demonstrated judgment in evaluating tradeoffs across scope, performance, cost, and time-to-market, with the ability to lead complex discovery and prioritization across multiple stakeholders and use cases.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative background 

  • Ability to adapt to fast-moving projects and evolving priorities

  • Quick learner who is comfortable with nascent technologies and emerging strategies 

  • Experience driving adoption and change management for new data products across diverse internal teams.

Experience with or understanding of:

  • Data pipelines and workflow orchestration

  • ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and frameworks

  • Data warehousing (design, architecture, and optimization)

  • Big Data (enterprise data lakes)

  • Storage and compute systems

  • Cloud platforms, especially AWS (including S3, EC2, Lambda, and security)

  • Streaming technologies (such as Kafka or Kinesis)

  • SQL Skills

Compensation

Primary Location Pay Range: $135,429.80 - $203,144.70

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.
