Our Real Estate team is dedicated to delivering exceptional value for clients by managing property portfolios and segregated mandates in line with abrdn’s real estate investment approach. With a focus on strategic planning, risk management, and collaboration, the team operates at the heart of the property investment market, working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve client objectives. 

About the Role 

As a Deputy Fund Manager, Real Estate, you will work closely with the Fund Manager to implement the agreed investment strategy for a property portfolio or segregated mandate. You will contribute to the fund’s success by adhering to abrdn’s real estate investment processes and policies, ensuring investment risk aligns with the fund's risk budget. 

Your responsibilities will include preparing regular fund reports, attending investor meetings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including asset management, transactions, property management, sustainability, and research. Together, you will deliver on the fund’s strategic plan and support its growth in AUMs and fee income. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Implement and manage the fund’s agreed investment strategy in line with abrdn’s real estate processes and policies. 

  • Prepare fund reporting and represent the fund at investor meetings. 

  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to execute the fund’s strategic plan effectively. 

  • Support the growth of AUMs and fee income while adhering to investment risk guidelines. 

  • Apply technical expertise to leasing agreements, rent reviews, letting and sales campaigns, and other professional property activities. 

About the Candidate 

The ideal candidate will possess the following: 

Essential Skills and Experience 

  • Qualified to degree level. 

  • Post-qualification experience in property investment or asset management in a relevant market. 

  • Fluent in written and spoken German and English. 

  • Proficiency in Excel. 

  • Strong understanding of risk and return within a portfolio, from single tenancy units to portfolio level.
