Job Description Summary

The Retail Pharmacy Data & Products team is looking for a Data Engineer with experience developing scalable data pipelines, optimizing data workflows, and ensuring the quality and integrity of data. The Retail Rx Data & Products group is a robust and agile development and product group focused, but not limited, on CVS Health’s retail pharmacy data and related products/applications. The successful candidate should be a self-driven individual with solid communication and organization skills that is a proven team player. The candidate must also have the desire and potential to learn new technologies and methodologies while working in a fast-paced environment.

Position Summary

  • Contribute to the development of new product features utilizing various technologies – including, but not limited to: Oracle, Snowflake, and BigQuery.
  • Participate in Agile scrum activities/project status meetings on regular basis.
  • Participate in User story grooming/Design discussion with technical lead.
  • Analyze complex Data structure from disparate data sources and design large scale data engineering pipelines.
  • Use strong programming skills to build robust data pipelines for ETL (Extract / Transform / Load) processes, designs database systems and develops tools for data processing.
  • Work closely with other developers on the ETL Jobs/Pipelines development.
  • Perform all Data Engineering job activities including development/testing/deployment and support activities.
  • Document data engineering processes, workflows, and systems for reference and knowledge-sharing purposes.
  • Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of the data.
  • Be a team player and work with team members for Business solution and implementation.



Required Qualifications

  • 1+ years of Experience in executing Data warehousing ETL projects
  • 1+ years of Experience with SQL
  • 1+ years of Experience with Python
  • 1+ years of hands-on Experience with bash shell scripts, UNIX utilities & UNIX Commands
  • 1+ years of hands-on Experience with a major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, Azure)



Preferred Qualifications

  • GCP Experience - BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Python, Cloud composer/Airflow and Cloud Storage
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying data transformation and processing solutions in both Relational and Analytical database technologies such as Oracle, Snowflake, or BigQuery
  • Ability to leverage multiple tools and programming languages to analyze and manipulate data sets from disparate data sources
  • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills within and across teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Must understand software development methodologies including waterfall and agile
  • Health Care/Retail domain experience
  • GCP certification strongly preferred
  • Experience in developing APIs utilizing Java or Python a plus

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$79,310.00 - $158,620.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
