MACH (Modular Advanced Control for HVDC and SVC) is the industry leading state-of-the-art control platform from Hitachi Energy for designing control and protection solutions for power electronics systems that are key for energy transition and evolving power grids of the future. The MACH platform is integral to the power electronics based systems like HVDC and STATCOMs solutions from Hitachi Energy’s Grid Integration business unit.

We are seeking a Product Manager – MACH Control Platform for Grid & Power Quality Solutions and Service (GPQSS) to join our MACH Product Management team, with a dedicated focus on product management aspects of MACH Control Platform for High Power and Medium Power GPQSS applications.

You will be responsible for managing the MACH product portfolio lifecycle, ensuring strategic alignment between MACH and GPQSS, and driving innovation and operational excellence across cross-functional teams.
 

This role also serves as the single point of contact between MACH and GPQSS organizations for all product management topics related to the MACH platform.
 

The position is primarily based in Ludvika/Västerås, Sweden, but Kraków, Poland, could also be considered.
 

How you’ll make an impact

• Align strategic product decisions between MACH and GPQSS across all product lines and business segments.
• Oversee MACH R&D projects to ensure alignment with GPQSS product management priorities; participate in governance forums.
• Review and approve change requests for MACH R&D projects targeted at GPQSS and redistribute product management topics within MACH as needed and represent GPQSS business views in internal MACH governance forums.
• Analyze market segments, customer needs, competitor offerings and competitiveness to guide product strategy. Define and maintain product and solution roadmaps, ensuring consistency and alignment with business needs.
• Own and maintain MACH market/customer requirements and contribute to solution and system requirements definition as needed, especially requirements related to GPQSS applications.
• Drive MACH lifecycle management topics, product introductions, phase-outs, and portfolio optimization towards GPQSS.
• Define and maintain the MACH business model towards GPQSS and R&D funding strategy.
• Drive cross functional collaboration between the broader MACH and GPQSS stakeholders toward a one team spirit.
   

Your background

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Postgraduate qualification in Marketing, Strategy, or Business (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
• 5+  years of experience in product management, preferably in power electronics or control systems.
• Leadership, people and change management experience preferred and proven ability to lead cross-functional and cross-cultural teams across geographies.
• Strong understanding of industrial hardware/software development and lifecycle management and experience in control and protection solutions for Power Electronics based systems (Grid and Power Quality applications or HVDC) will be preferred but not mandatory.
• Candidates with very strong domain knowledge and demonstrated leadership skills may be considered, even with limited prior product management experience.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Proficient in business professional English.
