The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plant equipment and production systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role utilizes strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and production-related issues, evaluate solutions, and implement effective corrective actions.

The Maintenance Technician role requires proficiency in machine shop practices, including welding, fabrication, minor electrical work, plumbing, drill press operation, reading micrometers, and interpreting technical diagrams and layouts. The technician tracks maintenance activities through computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), supports production operations, and adheres to all plant safety standards, safe work practices, and housekeeping requirements.

Success in this role requires effective teamwork, communication, continuous self-development, a results-driven mindset, and the ability to perform additional duties as assigned.

This Maintenance Technician position is a NIGHT SHIFT position on a 11pm-7am OR 3/2 schedule.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to use a systematic approach in solving problems through analysis of the problem and evaluation of alternative solutions; use logic, mathematics, or other problem-solving tools in data analysis or in generating solutions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of technical skills to include:
    • Proficiency in machine shop practices - welding, fabrication, minor electrical skills, plumbing skills, computer skills, troubleshooting, reading a micrometer, drill press operation, and reading and understanding diagrams.
  • Ability to follow mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic layouts and then troubleshoot/repair problems
  • Tracks work performance through use of computer-based maintenance software.
  • Knowledge and effective use of computerized systems.
  • Working knowledge of production support system.
  • Passion for driving results & demonstrated history of self-development
  • Demonstrate knowledge of plant and process safety rules, safe operating methods, and good housekeeping.
  • Demonstrates effective interaction skills to support team activities related to effective process decisions and goals.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in using manual and power tools
  • Basic fabrication and machining skills
  • Use of precision measuring devices including micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, pye tape, etc.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to read mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings
  • Ability to operate a forklift and high-lift
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects
  • Ability to check fuses; wire motors; repair lighting issues
  • Ability to repair plumbing issues; add additional piping as required
