Do you have industrial experience in professional and technical safety? Are you a self-starter with proven communication and interactive skills? We’d love to hear from you!You will act as a technical advisor, coaching front-line leaders in environment health and safety (EHS) on-site safety programs, procedures, safe work practices, orientation, and campaigns. You will provide functional leadership by driving stakeholder interactions with a hands-on approach and strong field presence.
Minimum requirements
6 or more years of experience with a minimum of 1 year experience within oil sands or mining.
Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety/Environment or Occupational Health and Safety/ Environment Certificate or equivalent.
Interpret and apply regulatory (e.g., OHS, Env, etc.) requirements
Conduct hazard assessments, incident investigation, root cause analysis, audits, and identify hazards and/or environmental impact specific to processes and activities in work area
Demonstrates comprehensive and advanced knowledge when interacting with regulators at a facility level
Responsibilities
Scope of influence generally extends to one facility or business area with the potential to be rotated to other areas as needed
Provides EHS advice and expertise with minimal to no supervisor oversight
Influences the thinking and actions of others without exercising direct authority
Works with leaders, supports design of facility EHS programs, procedures, safe work practices
Participates in risk register population and management for EHS owned risks and contributes to work that may have a material impact on the team

You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday.
This is not a camp-based role
This is a temporary assignment with a remaining duration of up to 2026, depending on business need.
