We are currently seeking an experienced Full time Benefits & Risk Management Program Manager with high integrity and professionalism who can join our team. In this role, the Benefits and Risk Management Program Manager will coordinate between Brokers, Vendors, Staff leaders, and within combined groups to achieve Company goals while operating within Human Resources related laws, regulations, and best practices. We are looking for someone who is a self starter with impeccable organizational skills and pays close attention to detail.What you will do:
Design, recommend and implement effective benefits programs, internal communications and employee experience strategy to ensure employee understanding of benefits plan offerings, policies, and key dates (IE: Open Enrollment, Onboarding, Qualifying Life Events, etc.)
Implements risk strategies and methodologies; evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, initiatives, product, and internal controls to advise senior management on risk ratings and evaluates ratings against established policy standards
Ability to apply a systematic method to problem solving, analyze data, and recommend strategies that support positive business results
Develop and implement data-driven strategies to improve operational efficiency and gain competitive advantage
Utilize advanced analytics techniques to manage risks and drive business insights
Serve as primary contact, lead negotiations, and manage benefits and property and casualty vendor relationships to ensure optimal execution of all benefits and insurance programs
Make sound recommendations for selection of insurance brokers and carriers
Leverage collaborative partnerships with benefits and retirement administrators to maintain compliance with both federal and state regulations (ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, ACA, CFRA, etc)
Analyzes, develops and implements policies, procedures and practices in the areas of responsibility, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations regarding insurance, safety, worker's compensation, and identifies experts to provide training opportunities in all areas of employee safety.
Will work closely with the broker to coordinate insurance renewals and make recommendations concerning the company’s insurance needs.
Performs liaison function with insurance companies, insurance consultants, insurance agents, claims administrators, state and federal agencies regarding insurance, safety, health and wellness.
Complete internal audits of benefits and benefit eligibility quarterly or in accordance with compliance requirements; participate in external audits of benefits, compensation, and retirement plan as required
Serve as an internal resource on State and Federal benefits and risk management laws and compliance information
Develop and support systems and processes for incident management including communication and escalation of serious incidents
Ensure a proactive approach to ensure that Incident and Risk management procedures are consistently applied
Make recommendations to reduce, prevent or eliminate risks identified
Keep up to date with health & safety legislation and guidelines and advise management on legislative developments which may affect Safety, Health and Welfare at Work
Track and interpret the experience modification ratings including tracking exposures and preventing future similar exposures
Manage department budgets accurately and effectively
Monitor and review periodic claims and reports and provide trend analysis for all lines of insurance coverage
Monitor insurance program budgets and ensure that programs are cost-effective, and funds are managed prudently
What is required:
Understanding of all pertinent federal and state benefits, leave of absences, retirement regulations, filing and compliance requirements affecting employee benefit programs including but not limited to: ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, and DOL requirements.
Must have an Associates Degree (or equivalent experience) with 5 or more years of Benefits and/or Risk experience
Knowledge of risk management program development
Experience in navigating, updating and utilizing Workday or an equivalent HRIS
Excellent communication skills and ability to interpret benefits plan options and policy features to a broad audience with variable familiarity of Benefits
A self starter with excellent attention to detail and strive for accuracy in all things
Knowledge of benefit contract language
Must be eligible for employment within the United States
Must be able to pass an extensive background check and drug screening (Xenture will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with all requirements of State and local laws, regulations or codes)
Must be proficient in GSuite and MS Office
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with grace and discretion
Ability to work independently and as a member of cross functional teams
Ability to prioritize and manage competing projects with a sense of urgency
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, start-up environment
What is desired:
Experience in working with all levels of management, including director levels and senior executives
Military background is a plus
