The Mechanical Superintendent leads, directs and coordinates the work of subcontractors and labourers in relation to mechanical scopes. This leadership position is responsible for the day-to-day management on an assigned project, executing field operations safely and in a manner consistent with Company objectives.Initiates, coordinates, directs, and schedules site personnel to ensure project objectives are met.
Coordinate a multi-trade workforce to execute maintenance tasks, project work, and support plant shutdowns
Ensure project controls are in place to accurately measure progress against a schedule
Ensure workers follow procedures, remain engaged, and execute quality work
Assist in estimating requirements of future projects
Manage equipment requirements for each project or task
Manage multi-platform labour arrangements from unionized workers to open shop
Partake and occasionally lead incident investigations as required
Assist in preparation and negotiation of mechanical and electrical subcontracts.
Implements and manages the Bird Safety Program; performs regular hazard analysis and toolbox meetings.
