The Mechanical Superintendent leads, directs and coordinates the work of subcontractors and labourers in relation to mechanical scopes. This leadership position is responsible for the day-to-day management on an assigned project, executing field operations safely and in a manner consistent with Company objectives.

  • Initiates, coordinates, directs, and schedules site personnel to ensure project objectives are met.

  • Coordinate a multi-trade workforce to execute maintenance tasks, project work, and support plant shutdowns

  • Ensure project controls are in place to accurately measure progress against a schedule

  • Ensure workers follow procedures, remain engaged, and execute quality work

  • Assist in estimating requirements of future projects

  • Manage equipment requirements for each project or task

  • Manage multi-platform labour arrangements from unionized workers to open shop 

  • Partake and occasionally lead incident investigations as required

  • Assist in preparation and negotiation of mechanical and electrical subcontracts.

  • Implements and manages the Bird Safety Program; performs regular hazard analysis and toolbox meetings.
