Join our team as a Senior Risk & Compliance Advisor and help drive our commitment to robust risk management and compliance practices.

About the Role

As a Senior Risk & Compliance Advisor, you’ll provide independent oversight and critical support in managing risk for RAC Insurance. You will oversee the implementation of our risk management framework, ensuring that risks are identified, controlled, and mitigated to support organizational objectives and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee, monitor, and assess the effectiveness of RAC's risk management framework.
  • Support development and implementation of risk and compliance frameworks, including controls assurance, risk assessments, and obligations management.
  • Review and align the organisation's risk profile with appetite, tolerances, and key risk indicators (KRIs).
  • Provide expert advice on strategic and operational risk, contributing to risk culture initiatives and education across the organisation.
  • Lead Line 2 assurance reviews and coordinate independent reporting to governance bodies and regulators.
  • Maintain the risk register, KRI dashboard, and validate the credibility of risk treatment plans.
  • Engage in regular collaboration with the Line 1 Business Risk & Compliance team and contribute to company-wide policy governance initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in risk and compliance, ideally within insurance or financial services.
  • Knowledge of APRA Prudential Standards, Insurance Contracts Act, Corporations Act, and ASIC regulations.
  • Proven analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively.
  • Sound knowledge of regulatory issues affecting the insurance and financial services industry.
  • Experience applying/overseeing risk management frameworks standards and principles.
  • Tertiary qualification in risk management, financial services, or a related field (desirable).
