As a Senior Advisor responsible for training, skills development and quality control, you ensure continuous development of the team’s skills by designing and delivering training, providing individual and group coaching and implementing robust quality control mechanisms. You serve as a subject matter expert in practice optimization, support continuous improvement and help maintain a high level of performance and operational consistency. You play a leadership role in developing team members’ skills. Your initiatives require extensive, in-depth knowledge of your line of work. You make recommendations on the development and execution of projects and initiatives with a high degree of operational and conceptual complexity. You use your analytical skills and comprehensive, detailed understanding of your line of business and the organization. Coordination is critical. You interact with many stakeholders working in a wide range of fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential. You serve as a specialist advisor and subject matter expert, as well as a resource person and coach for decision-making bodies. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Design, update and organize training content related to processes, tools, professional standards and best practices.

  • Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions for new employees and existing teams.

  • Develop guides, tutorials, FAQs and other learning tools that promote employee autonomy.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training activities and adjust approaches based on needs.

  • Work with managers to identify the skills teams need to develop.

  • Assess individual and collective needs in terms of technical and behavioural skills.

  • Propose and implement personalized development plans.

  • Support employees in acquiring new skills through coaching, mentoring and targeted workshops.

  • Track skill development over time and recommend actions to maintain a high level of proficiency.

  • Take part in onboarding new employees by providing an organized, coherent development path.

  • Establish and maintain quality control processes aligned with internal standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct regular audits of files, practices and decisions.

  • Identify gaps, analyze root causes and make recommendations for improvement.

  • Document results, produce reports and present findings to teams and managers.

  • Work with teams to standardize practices and ensure operational consistency.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by proposing solutions to improve quality and efficiency.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • A minimum of six years of relevant experience

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Experience in life and health insurance claims

  • Expert proficiency of French and English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients

  • Knowledge of life and health insurance

  • Knowledge of coaching or training
