Finning Canada is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Specialist to join our team in Kelowna. Our Preventative Maintenance Specialists are responsible for performing equipment maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar general line, forestry and mining equipment. Both in Shop and in the Field.

Job Description:

• Performs scheduled oil sampling and change fluid filters as per contract agreement.

• Perform maintenance as per machine specific checklist and conduct visual machine condition reports.

• Coordinate ordering parts, maintain and stock service truck.

• Fluent in electronic communication and service reporting

• Must be able to make first customer contact for PM scheduling

• Environmentally responsible in sensitive work areas.

• Preventative Maintenance Specialists are required to be flexible in managing their work schedule, both in regard to days, hours and overtime.

• As such a bonus of twenty dollars ($20.00) per PM inspection will be paid as an incentive to work the irregular schedule.

Specific Skills & Experience:

• Journeyperson Ticket considered an asset

• 4th year Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentices will be considered

• Valid class 5 driver’s license with a successful drivers abstract required for field positions 

• Experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems is beneficial

• Strong customer communication skills

Important Details:

• This is a position based out of Kelowna, on a Monday - Friday (5x2) shift

• Out of town assignments may be required on an intermittent basis

• $20.00 per PM inspection will be paid as an incentive to work the irregular schedule.

• A condition of employment may include the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable

Union Membership: This is a unionized position.  Union dues will be deducted from your pay upon hire.  Terms of employment are governed by a collective agreement.
