Technology finance is a specialist team that supports the Group’s technology area with strategic advice, commercial and financial analysis to ensure optimal strategic decision making and operational excellence.

Your team forms part of the wider Technology Finance Team of approximately 90 people and provides financial management, planning and controls services to Group and Business Unit CIOs.

Technology Finance is responsible for the provision of financial control, reporting and planning services to the Technology division. We work closely with our stakeholders to help them understand their cost base and deliver current and future strategic and financial plans.

Your team’s primary role is to:

  • Perform planning & forecasting for Technology - coordination and delivery of the annual operating plans and monthly forecasts, including supporting analysis and insight on the Technology cost base
  • Partnering with the Technology Business Partners and Enablement teams to gather reliable and accurate forecast data
  • Deliver meaningful insights to drive better business outcomes, including cost optimisation and process simplification.

You will report to the Executive Manager - Forecasting & Strategic Investment Support, Technology Finance, and you will lead a team of two Finance Managers.

Your role is to support the EGM and GM of Technology Finance, the Technology Leadership Team and Group Finance within CBA in making efficient decisions. To deliver on outcomes, you will have effective relationships across the broader Technology Finance team, as well as Group Finance and the Group Accounting Policy teams.

Key duties will include:

  • Lead the team to deliver the annual operating plan and forecasts, and raise issues to Tech Finance LT & Group Finance
  • Meet the Group Planning and Forecasting timelines
  • Prepare monthly Technology forecasts through the provision of financial modelling and analysis
  • Provide insights on the Technology cost base, including driver analysis and recommendations to drive productivity
  • Significant contributor to the CEO pack that is presented to CEO & CFO every six months
  • Assist the business to optimise their performance and forecasting, including continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identifying and escalating issues and ensuring appropriate risk management and financial control practices are in place
  • Create a strong team culture, and build and maintain productive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Drive productivity and process improvements across the team’s processes
