Role Overview
This position is preferred to sit out of our Charlotte, NC HQ office in greater Uptown (Hybrid - 3 days per week). We will consider virtual candidates for this role (50% travel to Charlotte required).
What you'll do
Data Strategy and Architecture
Develop and implement a data strategy that aligns with the company’s business goals and product roadmap.
Design and oversee scalable data architectures that enable advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI capabilities.
Ensure the integrity, accessibility, and security of the company’s data assets by implementing best practices in data governance and compliance.
Leadership and Team Management
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing data engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Set clear goals, KPIs, and metrics to drive accountability, performance, and measurable outcomes within the team.
Collaborate with cross-functional leaders in engineering, AI, and product management to ensure alignment of data initiatives with company objectives.
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team to build a more resilient and innovative workforce.
Data Platform Development
Evaluate and enhance the current data landscape, including assets, technology stack, architecture, and governance practices.
Lead the development and continuous evolution of scalable, robust, and business-aligned data platforms.
Implement best-in-class practices in data management, ETL processes, data warehousing, and governance to ensure high quality and trust in data.
Drive the adoption of modern tools and technologies, including cloud-native services, distributed computing, and real-time data processing.
AI and Data Innovation
Collaborate with AI and product teams to develop innovative, data-driven features and products that enhance the company’s competitive positioning.
Advocate for the strategic use of AI and machine learning, ensuring data platforms are optimized for these advanced applications.
Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, translating them into actionable initiatives to drive innovation and maintain the company’s market leadership.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional teams (product management, engineering, architecture, customer care, and operations) to ensure the seamless integration of data capabilities into products and operations.
Effectively communicate complex data concepts and strategies to executive leadership and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the company’s broader vision and goals.
Translate data-driven insights into actionable business outcomes, ensuring that data initiatives provide tangible value to the organization.
