Context of the role

Thunes is looking for a motivated and independent Marketing Manager (demand/lead generation focus) for Greater China & North Asia to lead our go-to-market and growth strategy and execution in the mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Japan, Korea and Mongolia but not limited to.

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious, creative, and ambidextrous marketer to help launch and establish Thunes brand in the region, and lead the overall Marketing strategy, planning and execution in Greater China & North Asia. The candidate will be a key member of the Regional team and will work closely with the GM of the region and senior leaders, as well as agency partners and other global stakeholders. 

The ideal candidate has experience working across a wide range of online and offline marketing channels, conceptualising, planning and successfully executing campaigns that deliver tangible business results. This role will have a strong focus on demand / lead generation, driving support to the commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Work closely with the commercial teams to drive demand and lead generation support to them, becoming a true commercial partner to the business
  • Reporting to the GM of the region while discussing as well as securing support, resources and budget with the global marketing team for alignment of Thunes global product positioning and propositions, develop overall GTM strategy for Greater China & North Asia, and plan targeted and results-oriented initiatives to achieve business growth and lead generation targets
  • Run a full spectrum of regional marketing activities, including digital ads, media partnerships, webinars, local content production, press announcements, and social media planning with a continual focus on lead generation
  • Evaluate, plan and manage participation in key industry conferences and events
  • Plan and create localised content - case studies, thought leadership etc
  • Work to identify, brief, and supervise local vendors required to achieve the deliverables
  • Manage media relations and PR activities
  • Manage and operate regional marketing budget
  • Ensure timely and quality reporting on regional campaigns and activities

Professional Experience/Qualifications

  • Self-starter, hustler, able to work independently
  • A minimum of 6-7 years in Marketing roles within a B2B environment (preferably Fintech, Payments, Saas or Tech industry)
  • Proven experience working with demand and lead generation tools
  • Proven experience working closely with commercial teams to drive leads and revenue
  • Data / metrics driven
  • Experience in a wide mix of digital and offline marketing channels and instruments: content creation, event management, campaign management, media planning, social media, lead generation, etc.  
  • Proven experience in planning, managing, and delivering projects that generate business and commercial results, ability to use data and metrics to monitor and measure performance, measure effectiveness and plan ongoing improvements
  • Intellectual curiosity and analytical rigour, with the ability to understand data and customer behavior drivers through quantitative and qualitative data
  • Fluency in oral and written English
  • Local work experience and full language fluency (Mandarin), with excellent writing, grammar, spelling, and formatting skills in Mandarin
