We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Media lead to drive our content and editorial vision in Hong Kong. This role is critical to shaping our brand voice, curating compelling content, and ensuring our narrative aligns with both global standards and local relevance. The ideal candidate will be a creative storyteller, a detail-oriented editor, and an adept strategist with a business lens who can lead content initiatives that engage, educate, and inspire our audience.
This individual will play a key role in elevating Yahoo's media presence by guiding content ideation and collaborating with product, sales, and cross-functional teams across Yahoo Inc.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Strategy Development: Define and execute the editorial strategy for Hong Kong market, aligning with global content goals while adapting to local market trends, customer preferences, and industry needs.
Editorial Planning and Management: Oversee editorial calendar planning, content creation, and distribution across multiple platforms, including websites, apps, social media, and syndication partnerships.
Guide the editorial team in producing search-optimized videos, articles, and multimedia content for Yahoo and its social platforms.
Lead ideation, assignment, and initiatives for cross-platform content that aligns with Yahoo’s brand vision.
Brand Voice and Tone: Ensure all content maintains the brand voice, is consistent, and adheres to the company's style guide, while tailoring the tone to the local market as needed.
Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate closely with Taiwan and global content teams, regional marketing, product teams, and local stake-holders to align on content initiatives and drive integrated campaigns.
Audience Engagement and Growth: Use data insights and feedback to understand audience preferences, improve content effectiveness, and optimize engagement metrics.
Trend Analysis and Insights: Monitor market trends, competitor content strategy, and industry developments to identify opportunities for new content ideas, formats, and audience engagement strategies. Stay informed on emerging media trends to ensure Yahoo remains at the forefront of cultural and industry conversations.
Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure content meets high standards of quality, complies with local regulations, and is global editorial standards.
Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Mass Communications, Journalism, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred.
Language Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in Chinese and English, fluency in English, Cantonese and conversational Mandarin.
Proven Leadership: Strong leadership and team management experience, with a collaborative approach to working across functions.
