SMI Scrum Master, Senior

The Scrum Master Sr Associate’s primary focus will be to lead scrum ceremonial meetings as well as guide the team in leveraging best-practices from Scrum and Agile practices to continually improve project efficiency and team throughput. This well-organized and highly collaborative individual will partner with various Insights and CMG team members to ensure Scrum and Agile best-practices are followed when appropriate, to update & maintain the team’s backlog of work, and to support and facilitate communication between all work teams and stakeholders. This role will support 2 teams and so must be able to quickly learn the needs of each team and provide an appropriate level of coaching and make recommendations based on an detailed understanding of both teams.  The Scrum Master will have a dotted-line connection to the IT Agile COE, and is expected to learn from the COE, stay connected to members of that team, and leverage those learnings to benefit the Insights and CMG teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Scrum Master and Sprint Planning/Management

  • Collaborate with product owners and project leads to update and maintain the team’s backlog of work in Azure DevOps, facilitating timely project entries and updates for the team
  • Lead daily/weekly sprint meetings – Stand-ups, Refinement, Retros, Bi-weekly Sprint Planning, ensuring team member workload is optimal for efficiency and output
  • Be the team’s go-to expert on the practical use of Azure Dev Ops, in accordance with RSM best-practice
  • Facilitate effective communication between Insights Teams, CMG, and BI/IT Teams to maximize productivity and maintain alignment across the teams
  • Serve as an additional contact and resource for team projects
  • General meeting scheduling/planning, follow up notes, correspondence
  • Provide end-of-sprint summaries reports on team performance and provide recommendations on improvement

Team meetings, 1:1s, and other duties

  • Builds strong relationships across multiple teams with ability to demonstrate a deep knowledge of their objectives and challenges
  • Attend team meetings and project meetings in addition to ceremonial meetings, when necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Business
  • or equivalent experience preferred

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint required
  • General knowledge of business and IT systems required
  • Strong attention to detail, motivation, and initiative required
  • Scrum Master or relevant certification preferred
  • Effective and timely written and verbal communication skills required

           

EXPERIENCE

  • 4+ years of Scrum Master experience required
  • 2+ years of Azure Dev Ops experience required
  • 2+ years of experience working with BI or Insights teams preferred

LEADERSHIP SKILLS

  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and consult effectively with employees at all levels required
  • Holds self and others accountable for sharing knowledge and best practices required
  • Effective coach and advisor on Agile and Scrum best-practices required

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $79,600 - $135,900

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
